HORACIO ACOSTA: BIO
I was born in Puerto Belgrano in the province of Buenos Aires in Argentina.
I began my studies at the age of nine, gaining knowledge of guitar, bass and piano.
I studied piano at the Leopoldo Marechal art school, specializing in the jazz genre, obtaining the title of popular music instrumentalist -jazz piano specialty-.
I took piano lessons with Abel Rogantini and Ernesto Jodos (jazz), Hernan Posetti (tango) and participated in workshops and masterclasses with Kenny Werner, Fred Hersch, Danny Grissett, Benito Gonzalez.
As a member of the Tango Jazz Quartet group (2015/2022) I toured the United States (New York, California, New Orleans), Europe (France, Austria, Belgium, Germany, England, Wales, – Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Italy, Hungary, Poland, Serbia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania, Turkey), Africa (South Africa, Mozambique, Nigeria) and Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulo, Curitiba, Antonina, Ponta Grossa), playing in prestigious Jazz Festivals, Jazz Clubs and other theater venues. I also had the chance to share stages and tours with renowned Argentinian personalities such as Yamila Cafrune, Marcelo Rodriguez (Gillespi) and Franco Luciani. See in the following link
In 2022, with the Tango Jazz Quartet group, we obtained recognition from the Legislative Assembly of the City of Buenos Aires through an event chaired by Deputy Maria Luisa González Estevarena, declaring the activities of TJQ as of cultural interest See in the following link
In Argentina, I played Argentinian folklore, tango, jazz, jazz fusion, funk, rock, flamenco, etc., with many Argentinian artists. See in the following link
I was also a member of the resident group of the Jam Session TV show broadcast on Canal de la Ciudad as well as on other partner channels. I have accompanied many renowned Argentinian artists and as part of the program I have given masterclasses and tested Yamaha instruments. This show was hosted by Diego Mizrahi. Every year I participate as a jury in the most important music awards in Argentina, the Gardel Awards.
I taught at the Popular Music School of Avellaneda (Argentina), the Leopoldo Marechal Art School (Argentina) and the Popular Music School of the Municipality of Ituzaingó (Argentina), as as a teacher of piano, harmonic piano and ensemble practice.
I have been living in Switzerland since the end of 2022 and performing with my solo project Live Looping Set Link here, as well as with musicians and bands such as:

With these groups, I played at several music festivals in the Geneva region: Lancy, Nano Festival, Lucy Festival, Fête de la Musique Genève and gave concerts at places such as Librairie Albatros (Geneva), the Lutheran Church of Geneva, L’Écurie (Geneva), Le Monde à part (Geneva), Espace Culturel La Chaumière (Montricher), La Rive Lounge Bar (Morges), L’Espace Yvette Théraulaz, la Maison du Quartier of the Desert, among others.
I am currently a stable pianist at the Protestant Church of Bellevaux, Lausanne.
I give lessons at the Emagina-Son music school in Lancy and privately.
